Just another WordPress.com site

"Because of this, God raised Him (Jesus) up to the heights of heaven and gave Him a name that is above every other name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Philippians 2:9-11

"There is salvation in no one else! There is no other name in all of heaven for people to call on to save them." Acts 4:12

Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through Me." John 14:6

What is it about this name that offends so many? So many are unwilling to talk about Him. They will talk about God and religion but when you mention His name they get angry. Many times I would be having a pleasant conversation with someone and when I mentioned about Jesus and what He has done in my life, they end the conversation abruptly and leave. They don’t want to talk about Him. They would rather use that name as a swear word. As a curse and not a blessing. They will go out of their way to have His name removed from all public areas. If a teacher dares mention the name of Jesus in the classroom, they risk a lawsuit. Yet mention the name of Mohammed or Buddha and that’s cool. Nobody uses those names as swearwords. Can you imagine someone hitting their finger with a hammer and yelling, "Mohammed!"

1 Peter 2:7- 8 says, "Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient, "The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone," and "A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense."

Many reject Him because of the sin in their lives and yet He is the only one who can bring them hope. Jesus said He came to seek those who were lost. (Luke 19:10) and in Luke 4:18 He said, "The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed." Jesus came and died for everyone. He loves the homosexual, the prostitute, the drug addict. He loves all. The Bible says that whoever calls upon His name will be saved. (Acts 2:21)

Ask yourself, are you offended by the name of Jesus? He loves you. Pray and ask God why. Ask God to show you who Jesus is. Confess your sins to Jesus and then ask Him into your heart. I promise you, you will never be the same.

  1. Jesus came and died for everyone,we live for God,we are just servants,we do everything what he wants,he controls everything, including life, because of he made u,so he wants u be happy, and follow him,coz he is holy! God bless!

  2. i think its really great of udoing this. jesus is my lord and saviour

  3. I don\’t think it\’s just about belief either. If you went round shouting someone\’s relative\’s name every time you injured yourself… they\’d soon get pretty upset. Apart from the fact his name is holy… it is also disrespectful to misuse the name of someone who is considered close to somebody else.A wise person taught me that, when somebody shouts "JESUS CHRIST!", it\’s good to follow it up immediately with a statement of fact/faith "SAVED US!" is popular around the people I know. For one thing it gives people an opportunity to think about what they have said… and why it may be wrong… for another it gives you a way to witness to them without getting preachy. It\’s a way of turniong a negative to a positive. Like sneezing and saying "bless you!"Hope this gives a helpful way of dealing with such situatioons.Blessings and regardsN

  4. By the way I found an interesting way to keep the banners (such as your take a stand one) up without having to constantly re-enter them in new posts.

  6. Hi, I\’m 16 and really interested in Christianity. In all honesty, I\’m not a believer, but I am an open-minded agnostic leaning towards theism. Recently I\’ve been wondering about the Rapture, and I was wondering if you could suggest some reading about it, and/or specify some verses of the Bible that discuss it. I appreciate your time, and I admire your courage. 😀

  7. I have now seen your site in updated spaces three time. Is it fate that brought me back?

  11. DomesticBrianI deleted your comment because you have no respect for rules. Hope you come to realize that it is you that is blind and are lost. I am 100% sure about Jesus and Him being the only way. Are you 100% sure that if you die tomorrow you won\’t wind up in hell. Think about it. Think real hard because smart people don\’t have to use the language you used.
