In the beginning when God created Adam and Eve, the bible says they were naked and unashamed. (Genesis 2:25) What God created was pure. The human body the way He created it is a thing of beauty. In the marriage of one man and one women when God is first in their lives, their bed is undefiled and the union is holy. Sex within the confines of marriage is a wonderful thing. But through the fall and the entrance of sin and perversion entered into this world. What God meant to be holy and beautiful, satan has perverted.

Everywhere you look today sex is openly displayed. It’s found in movies, on television, on the radio, the internet, at the newsstands, billboards, storefront windows, and even in the way men and women dress. You can’t avoid it and it’s getting worse all the time.

One of the major addictions today that is not talked about openly is pornography. It is a problem that many men and some women, including Christians, have today. They keep it hidden, hoping that no one will find out what they are really like. They have a love hate relationship with it.

I have been there. For many years I had an addiction to it. I craved it and yet hated it. It would keep me from getting close to God the way I longed to. You become introverted and look at women not as a companion but as an object. It destroys intimacy and brings harm to your family and friends. There is always the fear of being discovered. There is a lot of self condemnation involved and you wind up hating yourself and the things you have been looking at.

All sin separates you from God because He is holy. If you don’t deal with this thing I can promise you He will expose it one day. Why? Because He loves you and if it is not dealt with it will destroy you and cause much hardship for those you love and love you.

How do you beat this thing? First of all tell someone you can confide in. Someone in whom you know their walk with God is secure. Second, make yourself accountable to that person. Establish a line of communication with them. If you are feeling tempted call them and pray with them. Third, confess your sin to God. Realize that he loves you and will never turn you away no matter how many times you have fallen. Just get right back up again. If He tells us that we are to forgive others seven times seventy times a day, how much more does He forgive you when you go to Him. Romans 8:1-2 says "There is therefore no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and death." Forth, read the Word as often as you can. Memorize scriptures. Let your mind be renewed. There is hope and you don’t have to live in fear of the way you are. If you are willing, God will change your heart.

Hidden Sin

In the book of 2nd Samuel tells about the reign of king David over Israel. God called David a man after His own heart and yet David once tried to keep a sin hidden. In the days when a king was to lead his army into battle, David decided to stay home. As he was resting on the balcony of his palace, he noticed a woman bathing. Instead of looking away, he let his eyes rest on her and he became enticed by her beauty. He decided he must have her. After inquiring about her he found out that she was Bathsheba the wife of Uriah one of his commanders who was away at war. Even so he sent for her and she soon became pregnant by him. David hoped to hide his sin bringing back Uriah from the war and telling him to go and stay with his wife. Uriah refused and said that as long as there was a war he would not sleep in his home. David then decided that the only other way was to cover up was to let Uriah die in battle. So he commanded that he be put on the front lines. When the news came that he had been killed David took Bathsheba in to his house as his wife. David thought it was over and that his sin would never be found out. One day the prophet Nathan came to David and to him the story of a poor man who owned a lamb. That little lamb meant everything to that man. It was like a member of his family. But there was a rich man who owned many sheep. The rich man one day entertained a traveler and instead of serving him one of his own sheep, he slaughtered the poor mans lamb. David was angry at this tale and wanted to punish the rich man for what he had done. At this, Nathan told David that David was the guilty one and what he thought he had hidden God saw. David repented but his child that was born by Bathsheba died as a consequence of his sin. To read the story in it’s entirety, read 2nd Samuel chapters 11 and 12.

As a Christian do you have a sin which you keep secret? Something you hope no one will ever find out about? In Quebec one of the big problems is hidden sexual sin. Aultery, pre-marital sex, Incest, homosexuality, prostitution, and the veiwing of pornography. Perhaps you have problems with alcohol, drugs or gambling? Maybe even what you don’t think is not such a big sin as lying or theft? How about fooling around with the occult? Maybe it’s hate in your heart. The only one who knows is you and the Lord. And it is because the Lord knows that unless you do something to deal with that sin, He will deal with it in His way. The way He will deal with it is never pleasant. He usually exposes it to our embarrassment. A few well known tela- evangelists had their sins exposed to the entire world. Jesus said in Luke 8:17; For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light." God doesn’t wink at sin, He takes it very seriously.

"Why would the Lord expose my sin? Because He loves you. Sin brings death and enslavement as well as consequences. When someone is suffering from cancer, a surgeon must cut it out before it spreads. Surgery is never pleasant, but is necessary in order to save a life. So yes having your sin exposed hurts, but having it exposed and revealed can save your life. Come to that place of repentance today before your sin is exposed. God is faithful and He will forgive you.

Hell’s Best Kept Secret

A sister in Christ sent me this link earlier this week. It is quite an eyeopener. For the last century a large part of the church has been teaching a comfort gospel. Come to Jesus and all your problems will be solved. Nothing could be further from the truth. If you come to Jesus and make Him your Saviour you will defiantly have a better outlook on life and have a new sense of purpose, but if anything things usually will get worse for you. Why because you have become an enemy to the world. In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. 2 Tim 3:12. 80 to 90 percent of the people that come into the church wind up going back out into the world because they have been misinformed and when the trouble and persecution comes they give up. The church for the most part has stopped talking about sin and it’s consequences. They preach a popular gospel just to fill their seats. Take a look at the video "Hell’s Best Kept Secret" and let me know what you think. Here’s the link; http://www.livingwaters.com/

Sin is Still Sin No Matter How You Slice It

Some people have asked me where I stand on certain issues and lifestyles. What the Bible says is sin is exactly that, sin. Men will always try and interpret the Bible in ways to justify themselves or just entirely ignore it. They have given it all kinds of flowery names to make it more platable. They say well the Bible didn’t really mean that or it has been mistranslated. They say that times have changed and God has changed with the times. God is unchangable. Malachi 3:6 says; "For I am the the Lord, I do not change."

Jude 3-4 says; "Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt I had to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints. For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord."  There are those who would call themselves Christians who are doing that very thing and excusing sin in the church today.

I hate sin because God hates sin. But I love the sinner because so does God. Sin separates us from God. I can’t agree with the way they live because to agree would put me at odds with God. God is holy and no sin can enter His presence. He has also called His people to be holy. 1 Peter 1:13-15.says; "Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy."

He has also asked us to keep ourselves from those who practice sin even if they would call themselves a Christian. 2 Cor. 6:14-17 says; "Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will dwell in them And walk among them.I will be their God, And they shall be My people."Therefore "Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you." "I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the LORD Almighty."

Amazing Facts

50,000 of the cells in your body will die and be replaced with :new cells, all while you have been reading this sentence!

One human brain generates more electrical impulses in a single day than all of the world’s telephones put together.

Our brain is more complex than the most powerful computer and has over 100 billion nerve cells.

Our eyes can distinguish up to one million colour surfaces and take in more information than the largest telescope known to man.

Our hearing is so sensitive it can distinguish between hundreds of thousands of different sounds.

When you examine these facts you begin to see just how complex we are. The Psalmist in speaking to God was in awe of this complexity. He says in Psalm 139:13-16 "You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvellous – and how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed." (NLT)

You are a wonderful being. The Bible says that when He created us He was very pleased. (Gen 1:31) But sin came in and we were separated from Him eternally (Gen. 3) and sin required a sacrifice. Imagine being in a situation where your children were standing in front of a speeding car and the only way to save them was to push them out of the way sacrificing yourself. Well the punishment for sin is that speeding car. The Bible says in John 3:16 that God so loved the world that He sent us His only begotten Son (Jesus). It was Jesus that stepped in front and pushed us out of the way. He sacrificed Himself on the cross so that we no longer have to fear the punishment sin deserves. All He asks is that you accept Him as your Saviour and turn from your sins. It is a free gift.

Here is another amazing fact. The majority of human beings alive today will not accept that free gift but would rather accept the punishment for sin. That punishment is an eternity without God. It is a place called hell. There are no parties there. No meeting up with old friends. It was a place that was created for the devil and his demons. Never for you. Listen to what Jesus says himself in Matthew 13:49-50

"So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth." Are you going to stay in front of that speeding car or are you going to accept the sacrifice that has been made for you? If we can aid you in making this decision please do not hesitate to write us
