Taking a Break

My dear brothers, sisters and friends, I will be taking a bit of a break from blogging. It may be for 2 weeks or it maybe 2 months. Whatever the Lord wants and I feel this is what He wants right now. I need as much time with Him as I can get. The set back in my health has taken a lot out of me and at the same time the new direction the church is heading in requires more of my attention for the moment. There have been a few things that have happened that have brought me to this decision. The first being my health. The second being with the changes that Microsoft brought into spaces I lost about 75 % of my readership. For some reason my space no longer shows in the updated spaces from which the majority of my readership came. I have queried Microsoft numerous times on this and they have never come back with a satisfactory answer. They had promised more readers with the changes, not less. During this time I will be considering and praying whether I will be switching to a different blog provider. My desire is to reach as many people as possible with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Please pray with me concerning this. Please keep your eyes on Christ at all times no matter what the cost for the hour of His return is much nearer now then ever. God bless each and everyone of you.

Wafa Sultan: A Woman Who’s Not Afraid.

I want you to watch this video. It is of an Arab-American named Wafa Sultan, who is not afraid to speak the truth. Once again a woman speaks out because the Arab men have been strangely silent. Because of this she has recieved many threats against her life proving what she has said about many Muslums as being true.

Pray for her. Pray that she would find Christ. She has chosen as an Arab to champion Jews and Christians against the veiws of her own people.

Thank-you to all of you have been praying for me. I am starting to feel better as Spring approaches. I have not forgotton any of you. Right now it is a slow and difficult process even to type as my fingers ache. Continue to pray for me. God is teaching me much through this valley.

Melodie-Joy

On March 9th, 1988 at 8:30 pm my world was changed. A tiny little bundle was laid in my arms while the doctors fixed up my wife. We had just passed through 37 and half hours of labour and the baby had gotten caught in the birth canal and was in danger of strangling. The doctor worked fast and had to perform surgery on the spot to get the baby out before she suffocated. I hate the sight of blood but at that moment I didn’t care. I just wanted them both safe.

The little girl I held in my arms was crying because of the trauma of being thrust into a new world through birth. As I held her, I marvelled at the beauty I was beholding. A new life. God’s creation. I wept such tears of joy at her birth, thanking God for preserving both her and my wife. I spoke gently to the baby and each time I spoke she would stop her crying and stare up at me in recognition of my voice. For many nights before her birth I would lay my head on my wife’s stomach and sing to the baby. I was overcome with joy and wonder. I was a father.

The thought of being a father scared me as because my dad was an alcoholic and rarely spent anytime with me. After I found out my wife was pregnant, I went to see my pastor and told him about my concerns. He gave me advice that was so simple and yet it changed my life. He said that if I wanted to know how to be a good father to use Father God as an example.

The next day after her birth we gave her the name Melodie-Joy. First because of the musical sound she would make while feeding and second because of the joy she had just brought into our lives.

Melodie my sweetheart. My heart cannot express how much I love you. This day you have ceased from being a child and have become a woman. A woman of such beauty with the light of God shining from your heart. This day you start a new adventure as an adult. It seems as though it was just yesterday you were that tiny baby in my arms. Time has passed too fast. You will always be daddy’s girl no matter what. Keep Christ in your heart at all times. Let Him be your guide and your keeper. Seek Him first in every single decision. This day I give you my blessing and pray that in all things you will be blessed.

Happy Birthday!

Smoke Screens and Mirrors

The devil is a master illusionist. He likes to make us fearful and cause us to believe God’s promises are not true or that he is the one who has control. A lot of movies and television shows would have you believe he is all powerful or that he does not exist at all. He can bring about division just by sowing a thought into a Christian’s mind and then that Christian acting upon that thought. Whole churches have been brought down in this manner.

Jesus said in John 8:44 about him; " He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it."

During World War II the allies had to come up with a plan to fool the Germans. In northern Britain they created an elaborate illusion of a huge army preparing for invasion. They did this by building plywood tanks and using dummies. They even took the bodies of some soldiers who had died, put false orders in their pockets, and left them floating in the English Channel where the Germans could find them. The Germans were so convinced that the attack would come at Calais that they built up their forces there and left Normandy lightly defended. The invasion of Normandy was a success because the Germans were looking somewhere else.

This is the way satan operates. He creates the illusion that the attack is coming on your finances or other areas in your life when all the while he’s stealing your marriage or children. How do we combat this?

First of all believe in the promises of provision. In Matthew 6:25-34, Jesus told us we were not to worry about these areas. God will always provide not matter what your situation looks like.

Second, put on the armor of God daily. Ephesians 6:10-17.

Third, pray without ceasing and live a holy life. I Thessalonians 5:15-22.

If you follow these steps using God’s word you will see very clearly where the devil’s attack is coming and not be fooled. Above all remember that the devil is no match for God. God only allows what He knows we can handle and will the attacks to cause us to grow in Christ. Don’t let the enemy bully you around. Jesus humiliated the devil at Calvary and gave us all power and authority over him. He is a defeated foe. Hallelujah!

Christless Pentecost

I was moved by a message that Brother Scott gave on Jason Lochan’s space. The Church in North America is great danger. We are not doing what we should be doing. Many of us just play church and are more interested in numbers than we are in dicipleship. Christ is no longer the center. Man is. Many churches are dead because of it. We desire the power but not the purity and if you desire holiness it is going to cost you.

The message you hear playing is the same message that was given at Azuza street about 20 years ago Rev. David Wilkerson. It is just as relevent now as it was then. I suggest you listen to it.
