At the Cross

But far be it from me to glory [in anything or anyone] except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) through Whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world! Galations 6:14 (AMP)

At The Cross

Chorus 1
At the cross I bow my knee
Where Your blood was shed for me
There’s no greater love than this
You have overcome the grave
Your glory fills the highest place
What can separate me now
Verse 1
Oh Lord You’ve searched me
You know my way
Even when I fail You
I know You love me
Verse 2
Your holy presence
Surrounding me
In every season
I know You love me
I know You love me
Verse 3
You go before me
You shield my way
Your hand upholds me
I know You love me
Misc 1
(BRIDGE)
You tore the veil
You made a way
When You said that
It is done
You tore the veil
You made a way
When You said that
It is done
Verse 4
And when the earth fades
Falls from my eyes
And You stand before me
I know You love me
I know You love me

This song by Hillsongs touched me so deeply. Listening to it almost always brings me to tears. It is a powerful and anointed song.

As a child I wanted so much to please my dad and for some reason I never could. It scarred me deeply to the point I still struggle with my worth in God’s eyes and the eyes of others. But the words "Oh Lord you’ve searched me, You know my way, Even when I fail you, I know You love me."

He loves us even when we fail Him.

Think about that for a moment. Think about all the times you have fallen short and wondered how can anyone ever love you. How can a God who has searched me and knows the wickedness of my heart still love me? But He does and the cross proves His love for you. Without the cross and the shedding of Christ’s blood on that cross you would have been a person without hope.

And God purposed that through (by the service, the intervention of) Him [the Son] all things should be completely reconciled back to Himself, whether on earth or in heaven, as through Him, [the Father] made peace by means of the blood of His cross.  And although you at one time were estranged and alienated from Him and were of hostile attitude of mind in your wicked activities, Yet now has [Christ, the Messiah] reconciled [you to God] in the body of His flesh through death, in order to present you holy and faultless and irreproachable in His [the Father’s] presence. Galations 1:20-22 (AMP)

An instrument of torture became an instrument of love and reconciliation. It became the place where God said; "My child I love you so much I am willing to sacrifice my own Son so that I can be with you." It became the place where your sin was done away with so that you could be presented to the Father as a pure and spotless child. All your sins, all your failures, past, present and future, Christ took upon Himself there. He took them and threw them as far as the east is from the west. Never to be remembered or found again.

9For in Him the whole fullness of Deity (the Godhead) continues to dwell in bodily form [giving complete expression of the divine nature].

10And you are in Him, made full and having come to fullness of life [in Christ you too are filled with the Godhead–Father, Son and Holy Spirit–and reach full spiritual stature]. And He is the Head of all rule and authority [of every angelic principality and power].

11In Him also you were circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands, but in a [spiritual] circumcision [performed by] Christ by stripping off the body of the flesh (the whole corrupt, carnal nature with its passions and lusts).

12[Thus you were circumcised when] you were buried with Him in [your] baptism, in which you were also raised with Him [to a new life] through [your] faith in the working of God [as displayed] when He raised Him up from the dead.

13And you who were dead in trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh (your sensuality, your sinful carnal nature), [God] brought to life together with [Christ], having [freely] forgiven us all our transgressions,

14Having cancelled and blotted out and wiped away the handwriting of the note (bond) with its legal decrees and demands which was in force and stood against us (hostile to us). This [note with its regulations, decrees, and demands] He set aside and cleared completely out of our way by nailing it to [His] cross.

15[God] disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in it [the cross]. Galations 2:9-15 (AMP)

If you have come to the cross and asked Christ to be Lord and Savour of your life you should no longer be living a life of condemnation. You have been given the victory. He has declared you to be His child and He is a Father like no earthly Father could ever be. He has declared that He will never leave or forsake you. His love for you is such that we have been given just a mere glimpse of what it truly is otherwise it would completely overwhelm us.

31What then shall we say to [all] this? If God is for us, who [can be] against us? [Who can be our foe, if God is on our side?]

32He who did not withhold or spare [even] His own Son but gave Him up for us all, will He not also with Him freely and graciously give us all [other] things?

33Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect [when it is] God Who justifies [that is, Who puts us in right relation to Himself? Who shall come forward and accuse or impeach those whom God has chosen? Will God, Who acquits us?]

34Who is there to condemn [us]? Will Christ Jesus (the Messiah), Who died, or rather Who was raised from the dead, Who is at the right hand of God actually pleading as He intercedes for us?

35Who shall ever separate us from Christ’s love? Shall suffering and affliction and tribulation? Or calamity and distress? Or persecution or hunger or destitution or peril or sword?

36Even as it is written, For Thy sake we are put to death all the day long; we are regarded and counted as sheep for the slaughter.

37Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us. Romans 8:31-37 (AMP)

If your feeling discouraged today and feel you have lost your way, come back to the cross and remember what He’s done there for you. Don’t stay there. The cross is not to be a place where we dwell. But we can come back from time to time to remember Christ’s love for us. He has given you the victory. Choose this day to believe in His love for you and walk in it.

  6. Hell o My friend, just wondering how do you get music on my space? Is it easy?

  7. You have an interesting spae here, but I have noticed a recurring pattern with your blogs.

Instead of showing your faith, you seem to take any oppurtunity to slam Islam.  Are you feeling insecure which is why you chooose to slam Islam when you can?

Islam and Christianity are two very different religions, the followers are very different as are the books.  I don\’t feel a Christian can be impartial and state there true beliefs about Islam becuase there always seems to be this burning desire to grasp any oppurtunity to bad mouth Islam.  Although you wouldn\’t see the same in blogs owned by Muslims or that which show the teachings of Islam, for example http://searchforthelight.spaces.live.com/ uses Islam as its standin ground, not trying to bad mouth Christianity.

I would have much more respect if you showed less bias in your blogs, rather than all the negativity.  How about stating some of the common goals that Chrisitanity and Islam share?

    Peace out.

  8. I hope this gives us an oppurtunity to speak with respect with one another rather than jumping to conclusion.

I would like to have a dialogue with Christians, and hope my comments did not cause any offence.

I am simply trying to educate you and be educated, not anything else.  I feel we already live in a scary world, and dialogue is the way forward.

  9. A VOICE IN THE DESERT said:

To Sporty Muslimah……We are not bashing Islam in here, darling….We are merely unveiling the lies and deceits that islam hides from the world.Jesus said:love one another….Mohamad said:take everything you can, even by force or by the sword.
    Now…Which one sounds more peaceful???????
    love….Fatima

  10. To Angels of Peace.

In regards to your comment, I find it hard ti believe that you are not \’basinh Islam\’, if you need people to see the light of Christianity why the need to show what you believe to be the dark side of Islam, surely you should be able to without attemtping to crucify another religion.

Your understanding and interpretation lacks substance, please show me when The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that.  And this argument isn\’t about Jesus (peace be upon him) v Muhammad (peace be upon him) becuase Muslims believe in both Prophets and just as Muhammad (peace be upon him) bought the teachings of lvoe and respect so did Jesus (peace eb upon him).

You see I could sit here all day and typee what I see to be the negativity if Chrisitanity and take quotes of context and I could also display the true light of Islam.  However, it seems your not interested in that.  Any posts in here regarding Islam show a negative light, how about if I displayed all my posts on Christian extremists and fundamentalists like the IRA, Timothy McVeigh, George \’God told me to do it\’ Bush and Tony Blair.  It wouldn\’t make sense.

We need to work together to make the world a better place, not bash each other at every oppurtunity and feed what the media teaches you.

If you have any questions regarding Islam I would be willing to answer them.

    Peace

Thank you for taking the time to write some comments on my page.
Let me tell first of all that Jesus was not a prophet. He may have spoken prophetically but that\’s not who He was. He was and is God in the flesh.
Jesus clearly claimed to be the Messiah and Son of God:

Jesus told the Samaritan woman that he is the Messiah (Jn 4:25-26)
Jesus affirmed Peter\’s statement that he is the Messiah and Son of God (Mt 16:15-17, see also Mk 8:29-30, Lk 9:20-21)
Jesus told the high priest that he is the Messiah and Son of God (Mk 14:61-62, Mt 26:63-64, Lk 22:70) The Jews understood that this meant Jesus was equating himself with God: "he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God" (Jn 5:17-18). Other places where Jesus equated himself with God:

Jesus told the Jews, "I and the Father are one." (Jn 10:24-38)
Jesus told the disciples, "You call me \’Teacher\’ and \’Lord,\’ and rightly so, for that is what I am." (Jn 13:13)
Jesus forgave sins, which only God had the authority to do (Mk 2:5-11, Lk 5:20-24)
Jesus said that he had seen Abraham and that he is eternal: "\’I tell you the truth,\’ Jesus answered, \’before Abraham was born, I am!\’" (Jn 8:57-58)
Jesus said that he had seen God, which no one else could do (Jn 6:46)
He is also the only way to heaven and access to the Father.
Jesus said to him, I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me. John 14:6 (AMP)
This [Jesus] is the Stone which was despised and rejected by you, the builders, but which has become the Head of the corner [the Cornerstone].And there is salvation in and through no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by and in which we must be saved. Acts 14:11-12 (AMP)
That means no one can save you and grant you access to the Father except Jesus. Allah can\’t. Neither can Buddha nor any of the other man made gods.
What makes Christianity different is it is not about religion or following a set of rules and regulations. It is based on relationship. When a person accepts Christ, He comes and takes up residence in that person. It is not a one way relationship. It is two way. Jesus said that His sheep know His voice and we know very clearly when He talks to us. It is because of this His relationship and love for us that we able to change. It is also based upon grace. God\’s unmerited favor to us because of what Jesus accomplished on the cross. We recognize that we are sinners, unable to change and guilty according to the law. It is God that brings the change, not us.
As Christians we do not hate Muslims. To do so would go against Christ\’s nature. God loves every single human being and Christ paid the penalty for all. That means whether you are a Jew, Muslim, Buddhist. Christ died for you. The only thing He asks is that you surrender your life to Him and recognize Him as Lord.
What we do hate and what Jesus hated as well is religion. God detests it. Religion complicates things when it was never supposed to be that way. So yes I am against Islam, but I love and pray for the people. Religion has never saved a soul. It has never raised the dead. It has never healed the sick or set those held captive by sin free. It has only bound people.
31So Jesus said to those Jews who had believed in Him, If you abide in My word [hold fast to My teachings and live in accordance with them], you are truly My disciples.
32And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free.
33They answered Him, We are Abraham\’s offspring (descendants) and have never been in bondage to anybody. What do You mean by saying, You will be set free?
34Jesus answered them, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, Whoever commits and practices sin is the slave of sin.
35Now a slave does not remain in a household permanently (forever); the son [of the house] does remain forever. John 8:31-35 (AMP)
People who serve religion are salves to that religion. They are not free. Christ came to set those captive free. Muslims need Jesus. You can know the freedom that Christ brings. Every Muslim who has come to Him knows exactly what I am talking about. You\’ll never want to go back again.
Jesus spoke out about religion and so did the apostles because it separates man from a true relationship with the God of the universe that loves us more than we can even think or imagine.
Why have I picked on Islam. More Christians die and are persecuted at the hands of Muslims than any other group of people on earth. Look it up. Very rarely do you hear about Christians doing the same to Muslims. And yet what the nun said who was shot in the back by a Muslim said is what most of them say. Forgive them! Jesus said the very thing dying on the cross, put there by religious people. "Father forgive them for they don\’t know what they are doing."
I agree with most of the policies of George Bush and Tony Blair as well as my own Prime Minister Stephen Harper. They have set people who were under very heavy yokes free. Whether they are Christians or not, that is up to God. The  IRA is Christian in name only. The same with Timothy Mcvie. A true relationship with Christ will never lead a Child of God into terrorism.
Jesus loves you my friend. He is real and is there waiting for you with open arms. Are you willing to take a chance? Until then you are only following a set of rules set upon you by a man.
