Virginia We Pray For You

Yesterday, was a day of horror and confusion for many at Virginia Tech. Evil is indeed alive and well in the world and it is always roaming around seeking those whom it can devour. 33 lives became victims of that evil. It is a time of sorrow, but there is hope. The Lord said that he would be near to those who mourn and have a broken heart. Forgive the man who committed this evil. He himself was a victim of this evil. Pray for the families and friends of those who died.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,  who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 1Cor 1:3-4 (NKJV)

The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a contrite spirit. Psalm 34:18 (NKJV)

He heals the brokenhearted
and binds up their wounds.   Psalm 147:3 (NKJV)

  1.  I often remind myself at times like these that the loss was not thirty three lives but actually inestimable. Think of how many people each of the dead touched in some way and will be negatively affected by their death. It saddens me when I hear anybody blaming God for these incidents. This act was not perpetrated by God but by a living breathing soul of whom he gave a choice, "Life or death. Choose Life. " (I don\’t know where exactly that is in the scriptures but I know it\’s in there.) It\’s easy for you and me to say. We have Christ to lead us, but for those who stumble in the dark choosing becomes an internal battlefield. Sometimes it\’s a silent battlefield.
