When we use body language to express praise, that which is internal becomes visible.” – Don McMinn

Picture a child crawling up into his father’s lap and cuddling with daddy. The child knows he or she  is safe in his father’s arms and trusts him. In those moments a Godly father would do or give anything beneficial to his child. That’s our God. When we worship Him in spirit and truth we are crawling up into Daddy’s lap to tell Him we love Him. He loves our worship. He is always more than ready to meet us there and supply our every need. – Gerry Desjardins

"The first element in worship is adoration. The Hebrews expressed this by their posture and not alone my their word. For they prostrated themselves before God. O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying:
      “ You are worthy, O Lord,[a]
      To receive glory and honor and power;
      For You created all things,
      And by Your will they exist[b] and were created.” Revelation 4:9-11  (NKJV)
Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they sang a new song, saying:

      “ You are worthy to take the scroll,
      And to open its seals;
      For You were slain,
      And have redeemed us to God by Your blood
      Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
       And have made us kings[e] and priests to our God;
      And we shall reign on the earth.”

 Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands,  saying with a loud voice:

      “ Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
      To receive power and riches and wisdom,
      And strength and honor and glory and blessing!”

And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying:

      “ Blessing and honor and glory and power
      Be to Him who sits on the throne,
      And to the Lamb, forever and ever!”

Then the four living creatures said, “Amen!” And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshiped Him who lives forever and ever. Revelation 5:8-14 (NKJV)

After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10 and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” All the angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying:

      “ Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom,
      Thanksgiving and honor and power and might,
      Be to our God forever and ever.
      Amen.”  Revelation 7:10-12 (NKJV)

  1. Its always that divine spark that transforms the way we give worship to God.  when David first went for the ark he did it in his own way and it went badly.  In the passage you quote, he does it in response to God in the manner that God prescribed and it is amazing.
    When Solomon dedicated the temple, God answered in glory and everyone fell on the ground declaring "The Lord, he is God, the Lord he is God!"  The people were caught up in the wonder and awe of God\’s presence.
    When God revealed a book of the Law to Josiah, he tore his robes in grief at his nation\’s inadequacy before the Lord and convicted persuaded his people to turn their country\’s course back into a God centred one.
    When Ezra read the Law to the people, they wept openly and grieved  in recognition of how they had let God down.
    When God challenges a nation to be changed, it is his servants who hear his voice who need to respond to his call first.  When we repent and worship in earnest… out of honest and complete conviction God pours his blessing sout all the more.
    Blessings Gerry
