Amazing Facts

50,000 of the cells in your body will die and be replaced with :new cells, all while you have been reading this sentence!

One human brain generates more electrical impulses in a single day than all of the world’s telephones put together.

The total length of all the blood vessels in the human body is about 97,000 km. This is over twice the circumference of the Earth’s equator.

Our brain is more complex than the most powerful computer and has over 100 billion nerve cells.

Our eyes can distinguish up to one million colour surfaces and take in more information than the largest telescope known to man.

Our hearing is so sensitive it can distinguish between hundreds of thousands of different sounds.

When you examine these facts you begin to see just how complex we are. The Psalmist in speaking to God was in awe of this complexity. He says in Psalm 139:13-16 "You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvellous – and how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed." (NLT)

You are a wonderful being. The Bible says that when He created us He was very pleased. (Gen 1:31) But sin came in and we were separated from Him eternally (Gen. 3) and sin required a sacrifice. Imagine being in a situation where your children were standing in front of a speeding car and the only way to save them was to push them out of the way sacrificing yourself. Well the punishment for sin is that speeding car. The Bible says in John 3:16 that God so loved the world that He sent us His only begotten Son (Jesus). It was Jesus that stepped in front and pushed us out of the way. He sacrificed Himself on the cross so that we no longer have to fear the punishment sin deserves. All He asks is that you accept Him as your Saviour and turn from your sins. It is a free gift.

Here is another amazing fact. The majority of human beings alive today will not accept that free gift but would rather accept the punishment for sin. That punishment is an eternity without God. It is a place called hell. There are no parties there. No meeting up with old friends. It was a place that was created for the devil and his demons. Never for you. Listen to what Jesus says himself in Matthew 13:49-50 "So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth." Are you going to stay in front of that speeding car or are you going to accept the sacrifice that has been made for you? If we can aid you in making this decision please do not hesitate to write us

  1. Yes and our entire body replace itself every 7 years!
I like the way that in the created order, God says things are good…. but it is not until man is made that he says that the creation is "very" good.
The cost of collecting all the separate chemicals and compounds needed to make the human body., in their natural states wass estimated at 6 quadrillion US dollars about a decade ago.  an attempt to assemble them, was estimated at costing more wealth than is contained in the World.
There was a story of a chief scientist who met with God and boasted that man could now rise to any challennge he was faced with.  He had split the atom, cured countless diseases.  With such great intellect the scientist reasoned that he could rise to a godlike status.
Naturally unimpressed, God gave the man a test.  He challenged thescientist to make a man out of dirt – just like he had done.
Confident, the scientist started by saying "right, first we take some dirt…" at which point God tapped him on the shoulder and wagged his finger "Ah ah! You get your own dirt!"
God will always be the potter and we will always be the clay, no matter what ideas we get above our station.
If you cut the head off a cockroach it will carry on scurrying around for days… and will only die after that because it has no means to feed itself.  If you don\’t know Jesus – you are that cockroach! You might think you are running around fine, but when your last day comes… without Christ (who is our head), to feed and sustain you.  You will die just like the cockroach.
God wants us to be in a relationship with him… we run away from this because our sinful nature doesn\’t like the idea that anybody else has a right to have a say in our lives.  We want to do it all on our own, but we lack the software.  We were always designed to live in communion with God.  We were made in his image and only find fulfillment when he dwells within us.
What use is a glove without a hand? Very little.  What use is man without his God?  Very little.
We need God and the way to him is Jesus.

  2. Hi Gerry…. couldn\’t find an email link to warn you but you\’ve been hit by some dodgy spammer.  Last time it happened to me every single entry for about two months had a comment promoting dodgy stuff in it.  Figure you\’d be wanting to delete it… so if anyone on here is a Gerry regular and reads this before he is on, if it\’s possible, can you email him and let him know it\’s happened.  You might want to delete this comment as well to save people asking questions once it\’s gone
    God bless
