For Unto Us a Child is Born!

Consider this. We live in a galaxy called the Milky Way. At one time when man tried to count the stars with the naked eye, he believed there was no more than a thousand stars in the sky. Today with our modern day telescopes we now know that our galaxy contains more than 100, 000, 000 stars. On top of that scientists have discovered at least another million galaxies just like ours. They found that the universe is much bigger than they had thought. They also discovered that it is orderly, as if it was put together by a Master designer. Well I have news for them. Good news. It was!

The bible says in Genesis 1:1; In the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth. God created all we see and then He created man (Genesis 2). But man disobeyed Him and sin, which separates us from God was brought into the world(Genesis 3). Sin damns us to a place called hell that God only prepared as punishment for the devil and his demons. Payment for sin required a sacrifice. A blood sacrifice. But God had a plan all along. He would come to earth as one of us. He would be born in a manger in Bethlehem as a baby to a virgin named Mary and would have to face life like the rest of us. He subjected Himself to all the things that we face. The Creator and Ruler of this vast universe would come and live on this tiny speck of dust. He would be our Savior. He is Emmanuel, which means God with us. He would become the ultimate sacrifice to bridge the gap that sin had created. Thirty-three years later He did just that and was crucified on a Roman cross just outside Jerusalem. He died and His blood was shed for us on Calvary. But three days later, He conquered death and the grave.

He is alive today and He is the reason we celebrate Christmas. His name is Jesus and He loves you so much that when He was dying on that cross He had you in mind. He came to earth and died for you. He knew you before you were in your mother’s womb. He knew and knows every single human being that has ever existed. He knows your every thought. The Bible says in John 3:16 that; "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever would believe in Him would not perish but have eternal life." Why not make this Christmas special and ask Jesus to be your Savior. All you have to do is confess that you are a sinner and ask Him to come into your heart. That my friend would be the best Christmas present you can ever possibly receive. Life everlasting and joy beyond measure.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 (KJV)

From my family to yours, have a blessed Christmas! Maranatha!

  6. each of these stars have their own solar systems.each solar system has a number of planets.each planet unique.is it possible for life to live on any of these planets?keep in mind each planet has its own atmosphere.a warm planet with water and oxygen might not be that hard to belive.back

  7. Hi Gerry. Thanks for your well wishes. Jesus birth is truly amazing as well as His unity among us. Have a merry Christmas and a happy new year. God bless.

  9. Merry Christmas to you too Gerry and may God\’s grace shine upon you and your family this season. Also I have a question for you..I was going to wait till later but I will forget (something about being over 40) In the bible it says when Christ comes back the dead will rise out of their graves, and then when Christ was on the cross he said to the sinner who repented that today you will be with me in Glory…whats the deal? are we going to be \’sleeping\’ till Christ comes again or when we die we are immediatly with Jesus? I am asking this because a good friend of ours died yesterday and everyone says she is with Jesus now..which gives us comfort of course but I just don\’t understand…maybe you don\’t either, maybe its something we will figure out when we get to heaven..??? a million questions..

  10. This Gerry\’s mom. I am asking for an urgent prayer request. Gerry\’s daughter has been taken to the hospital by ambulance with terrible pains in her stomach and loosing consciousness. Also pray for Gerry as he is quite upset. He has gone to the hosptial at the time of this writing. Please pray

  11. He is the reason that we celebrate this season. He is the reason we are living for.He is the reason that we still have faith hope and love.He is our Lord!Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace among those whom he favors!Καλά Χριστούγεννα!Marina

  12. –>backasoreI guess it\’s possible although I personally think it\’s unlikely. Oxygen is a lot more unlikely than water and even with water life is extremely difficult to achieve. A common anology is throwing all the parts of a frog into a boiling pot of water and coming back later to get a live frog. Even though you may have all components (and it appears that Earth is extremely unique in its ability to support life) that doesn\’t necessarily mean you get life. Possible I suppose, highly unlikely in my opinion.–>GlancingSusanI may be wrong here (I\’m only 16 so keep in mind that I\’m not the highest authority around the place :P) but this is what I think… when we die we go to Paradise, or the bosom of Abraham, as illustrated in Jesus\’ story of the rich man and Lazarus. Instinictively I would have thought that Jesus would be preparing the place for the bride (the Church) until His second coming, but His statement to the theif seems to suggest that He will also be there in Paradise… either that or the theif went straight to Heaven (by that meaning the direct presence of God). I personally think its the former. As for the quote of the dead rising, where is that from? Is that referring to when Jesus was confirming to John the Baptist that He was the one who was to come? Or when Isaiah prophesied that the dead will rise? (which interestingly doesn\’t appear in the manuscript we originally used but appeared in the Dead Sea Scrolls, even when Jesus quoted it) If it\’s those two then it refers to Jesus\’ ministry on Earth… however if its referring to His Second coming then I believe it refers to the Rapture, where \’the dead in Christ shall rise first\’.At least this is what I think… I can\’t pull off every Scripture that refers to these at the moment but I\’m pretty sure they\’re all Scripturally accurate. Of course, it could be a Deutronomy 29:29 occurance =PSad to hear about Gerry\’s daughter even though I don\’t know them personally… I\’ll be praying for you and her recovery.Merry Christmas to all my brothers and sisters in Christ!

I pray you and your family will have a blessed Christmas and New Year\’s. Yes Jesus is the reason for the season and what a wonderful joy to know His precious life was because of His undescribable love for us, there are not enough words in the english language to describe the capacity and depth for what He did for all of us. 26. how can you relate every little thing to god? do have no responsability for your self? have you no life? if god and jesus are every thing than you are nothing.God (if there is one) is not responsable for every little thing that happens in your life. You are responsible. You make choices. NOT GOD!

  27. wishin you and your family a very merry Christmas and a Blessed new year! much love ^^ xxx

  28. Just a question, what \’scientists\’ discovered the world is "orderly, as if it was put together by a Master designer."? That statement goes against pretty much every modern science theory. It\’s clear that you haven\’t heard of chaos theory, everything is essentially random…Although the following link may no tbe 100% accurate, it should provide a good enough overview for anyone that is interested:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaos_theory

  30. i missed your reply to my last question.it seems to have dissappeared.back

  31. –>AthiastYou know, you\’re totally right in that we make our own decisions and that we are responsible for what we do. I\’ve chosen to give my life to God, and I have tasted and I have seen, and nothing will convince me that it was not the best decision I could ever make. Until you have experienced it and know what you are talking about, how can you speak against us?–>fit2yyyYou seriously need to do more research. Yes, I have heard of the chaos theory, but that\’s exactly what it is. It\’s a THEORY. It is wrong to say that everything is essentially random. What is correct is that it is THEORISED that everything is essentially random. If you\’re talking about intelligent design, it has been gaining increasing amounts of support in the scientific community. The way you pose that question evidently shows you\’ve already made your decision that the chaos theory is \’right\’ and the theory of intelligent design is \’wrong\’. And THAT is unscientific.Science is only truly science when you remove presuppositions, and its clear the way you said the \’scientists\’ that supported intelligent design makes you think they\’re not scientists at all. If they\’re working on data they have, hypothesising and supporing their claims, on what basis are you to condemn them as not being scientists? And I\’m glad to hear that your daughter is ok… hope you can enjoy a Christmas without more worries like that!

  32. Hi Gerry!!! Long time, no see!!! I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!! I\’m playing the flute at church tonight, it\’s close to a first lol. We\’ll see how it goes and hope the nerves don\’t take over.*HUUUG*Kim
